Fresh water fishing in Holland
Holland is more famous for its tullips than big fish, simply cause we don´t have any! That´s if you would compare it to other parts of the world, of course. The biggest/heaviest fresh water fish
you can catch around here is probably the catfish. The second biggest fresh water predators are the pike and zander (around 40 inch). Because we just love light fishing with lures, it´s a good
alternative to fish for zander when the conditions for sea fishing are not that perfect. Because we live near the Waterweg river in the city of Schiedam, it´s easy to go for litttle fishing when
you heaven´t got that much time. The Waterweg, runs after 20 kilometers into sea at Hoek van Holland. It´s a common thing to the fisherman up here to catch freshwater and saltwater species as
well in one session. You can catch pike in any kind of water here, rivers, canals, lakes ect. Fishin for pike, requiers steel leader because of the sharp teeth. Perch is also a fish you can catch
in any kind of water. Upcoming fish is the asp, a fish specie that´s not form Holland originally, this specie came over from eastern europe, great to cath!
